The day after two record closes, the market is lower across the board. The S&P 500 is down 0.4% at 7,787, the Nasdaq Composite 0.5%, the Dow 0.8%, and the Russell 2000 of smaller companies 1.4%. The equal-weight S&P fund RSP is down 0.8%, more than the index — most stocks are falling, not just a few large ones. Bond yields are back up: the 10-year at 5.32%, the 30-year at 5.69%.

Vicor, which makes power modules for AI processors, is down 6.2%; nVent 4.7%, Vertiv 4.0%; Constellation Energy gives back 1.9% of Tuesday's 12% jump. The industrial sector fund XLI is the weakest sector at −2.1%. The data-centre operators slip too: Nebius −5.8%, CoreWeave −3.6%.

Health care is the strongest sector (+1.8%). Nvidia holds up better than the chip funds at −0.9%. The Fed publishes the minutes of its September meeting at 14:00 ET.
